People tell Sage things they wouldn't tell anyone else. We built MySage to honour that trust. Your data is encrypted on your device and handled with care at every step.
1. Who we are
MySage is developed by Drawbridge Studio ("we", "us", "our"). This privacy policy explains how the MySage iOS application ("the app") handles your information.
2. How MySage works
MySage uses cloud-based AI (Anthropic's Claude) to generate Sage's responses. When you send a message, it is transmitted to Anthropic's servers for processing. Anthropic does not retain your conversation data after generating a response.
Your conversations and memories are stored locally on your device in an encrypted database (AES-256). If you enable iCloud Sync, your data is also backed up to your personal iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit.
3. What data is stored on your device
The following data is stored locally on your device:
- Your display name and preferences
- Conversation history (messages between you and Sage)
- Memories (AI-extracted observations about your patterns, values, and goals)
- App settings (language, voice preference, notification preferences)
All locally stored data is encrypted using AES-256 encryption.
4. What data is transmitted
When you use MySage, the following data is transmitted to third-party services:
- Conversation messages are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI to generate responses. Anthropic processes your messages in real time and does not retain them after responding.
- iCloud Sync: if enabled, your conversations and memories are backed up to your personal iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit, protected by Apple's iCloud security.
- Location: if you grant permission, your approximate location (city-level) is sent to OpenWeatherMap to provide weather-aware responses.
- Subscriptions: managed through RevenueCat using anonymous App Store transaction data. No conversation or personal content is shared.
- Voice: Sage's voice is generated on your device using Apple's built-in text-to-speech. No voice data is transmitted externally.
- Authentication: handled through Firebase Authentication (Google). Only your sign-in method and anonymous identifier are stored — no conversation or memory data.
5. What we do NOT do
- We do not sell, share, or trade your personal data
- We do not use your data for advertising
- We do not track your behaviour across other apps or websites
- We do not create user profiles on our servers for marketing purposes
6. Third-party services
MySage uses the following third-party services:
- Anthropic (Claude AI) — generates Sage's responses. Does not retain data after processing. Privacy Policy
- Apple CloudKit (iCloud) — backs up your data to your personal iCloud account when sync is enabled. Privacy Policy
- Firebase Authentication (Google) — handles sign-in. Stores only authentication credentials. Privacy Policy
- RevenueCat — manages subscription status using anonymous transaction data. Privacy Policy
- OpenWeatherMap — provides weather data when location permission is granted. Privacy Policy
- Apple App Store — handles payment processing for subscriptions. Privacy Policy
7. iCloud Sync and Backup
If you enable iCloud Sync, your conversations and memories are backed up to your personal iCloud account. This backup is protected by Apple's iCloud security and is accessible only to you. You can disable iCloud Sync at any time in Settings.
8. Location data
If you grant location permission, MySage uses your approximate location (city-level) to provide weather-aware and time-aware responses. Location data is sent only to OpenWeatherMap to retrieve current conditions. Your location is not stored permanently or shared with any other party.
9. Subscriptions
MySage offers a monthly subscription ($7.99 AUD/month) with a 7-day free trial. Subscriptions are processed entirely through the Apple App Store and managed via RevenueCat. We do not have access to your payment information.
10. Data deletion
You can delete your data in the following ways:
- Sign out: removes all local data from the device. A fresh sign-in starts with a blank state.
- Delete Account: removes all local data, deletes your authentication account, and removes your iCloud backup data.
- Reset Sage: clears all conversations while keeping your memories and account intact.
11. Children's privacy
MySage is rated 17+ and is not intended for use by children under 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
